Setup A New UBE Job Queue

ISSUE:
How do you setup a new UBE job queue?
SOLUTION:
To add a new UBE job queue:
On the Batch Processing Setup menu (GH9013), choose Job Queues (P986130).
1. On Work With Job Queues, click Add.
2. On the Job Queue Revisions form, complete the following fields and option, and click OK:
Host
  • Enter the name of the server on which the queue will run.
Job Queue
  • Enter the new name of the queue.
Job Queue Status
  • Enter 01 if you want the queue to be active, or 02 if you want the queue to be inactive.
Queue Type
  • Define whether the queue is an EnterpriseOne queue or a non-EnterpriseOne queue. Non-EnterpriseOne queues work only on the AS/400 server.
Maximum Batch Jobs
  • Define the maximum number of jobs that can run in the queue.
Port Number
  • Identify the port number for the server instance on which the queue will run.
Default Queue
  • Check the box for the default queue, or leave blank for a non-default queue.
3. OnUDC 98/JQ add the new job queue.
The setting which determines whether the job queue is single-threaded or multi-threaded is the Maximum Batch Jobs. If the Maximum Batch Jobs setting is setup as 1, only 1 active job can be running at the same time which makes it single-threaded. If the Maximum Batch Jobs setting is more than 1, then more than 1 active jobs can be running at the same time which makes it multi-threaded.
